Meet the Newest Partner: Shelby Thomas
Shelby was always interested in being an attorney for as long as she could remember. Whether it was when Elle Woods went to Harvard Law or a field trip to the King County Courthouse as a child, she was hooked.
Her interest grew as she studied Criminal Justice at Washington State University. There, many of her classmates were preparing for careers in law enforcement or studying to take the LSAT and go on to law school. She graduated with Honors and moved on to Willamette University School of Law.
While at Willamette, Shelby worked as a DUII clerk at the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, and then as a Certified Law Clerk managing a misdemeanor caseload.
Since moving to Bend, Shelby has strictly focused on private criminal defense. Over the years, she has tried numerous Ballot Measure-11 cases, juvenile adjudications, and DUIIs – to name a few. These experiences have brought Shelby to different courthouses and counties all throughout the state of Oregon.
Shelby particularly loves post-conviction work, such as assisting revoked drivers get their license back, as well as relief from SO registration. She is passionate about helping clients navigate complex legal challenges and provides compassionate and effective representation. She is a fierce advocate for her clients and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes.
